Cartier by Helen Molesworth

Few jewellers are as celebrated globally as Cartier, and even fewer have as many instantly recognizable designs. Glamourous, witty, beautiful and beloved by stars from Elizabeth Taylor and Andy Warhol to Grace Kelly, their iconic pieces – such as the Tank watch, Love bracelet and Trinity ring – each reflect the spirit of their moment in time. Described as the ‘Jeweller of Kings and the King of Jewellers’ by King Edward VII, this book explores the history of Maison Cartier, its signature style and its embrace of progress and modernity.

Helen Molesworth spent ten years as a jewellery specialist for Sotheby's and Christie's auction houses in London and Geneva, before joining Gubelin as Managing Director to create and run the coloured gemstone Academy. She is now Senior Curator of Jewellery at the Victoria and Albert Museum.

Rachel Garrahan is Project Curator at the Victoria and Albert Museum. Before that she was the award-winning Jewellery and Watch Director at British Vogue. She is a Freeman of the Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths, and has written widely on luxury, art and culture for a broad range of publications.
