Katia Raina used to play at construction sites and believed in magic mirrors when she was a kid. She left Russia when she was approximately sixteen years old. She earned an MA in Writing for Children and Young Adults from Vermont Institute of Fine Arts and is currently a middle school English teacher in Washington, D.C. She still believes in magic and lives with her family just outside of Washington, D.C.
