Celebrations at Thrush Green by Read
A major celebration is planned in the Cotswold village of Thrush Green: the village school is in its centenary year; and exactly a hundred years ago, one of the village's most notable residents founded a mission school in Africa. But the preparations are beset with problems: Winnie Bailey's health is not what it was; the new headmaster doesn't appear to be entirely right for the job; and there are mixed reactions to the fundraising appeal for the mission school. But when the big day arrives, there are more reasons for celebration than anyone anticipated.Tim Read has worked in the computer business in the United Kingdom since 1985. He joined Sun Microsystems in 1990 and now works for Oracle's Solaris Availability Engineering division as a software developer. Many Sun BluePrints and white papers have been published and coauthored by him, including Building Enterprise Solutions with Sun Cluster 3.0. He graduated from the University of Birmingham with a combined honours degree in physics and astrophysics. He enjoys running, tandem riding, and touring the Outer Hebrides islands in northwest Scotland when he is not working.
