Sam McBratney was a teacher for many years and is now a successful author. He is best-known for his picture book Guess How Much I Love You, which was an international success. In 1996 he won the prestigious Book of the Year award presented by the American Booksellers Association and he has also won the Bass Ireland Arts Prize. He is married with three grown up children and lives in County Antrim, Northern Ireland.
