Bascom offers readers a fascinating glimpse of missionary life, much as Barbara Kingsolver did in The Poisonwood Bible.Tim Bascom spent most of his life at Ethiopia, where his father worked in mission hospitals as a doctor. He is a graduate of the University of Iowa's nonfiction writing department, and his work has appeared in The Best American Travel Writing. He and his wife and two sons live in Newton, Iowa.
