A Cherished Freedom by Joyce Stranger
Louise Pritchard, widowed, grief-stricken and several months pregnant, is left to run a remote Welsh farm single-handed. With the help of local vet Russell Trent and his family, and new farmhand Jason Grant, she is beginning to rebuild the farm's fortunes when a group of misguided schoolchildren free the dogs from a local refuge. Louise's herd of sheep suffer, and Tarquin, a beloved and very valuable ram, is badly injured.
