Chesham: A Pictorial History by Julian Hunt
Chesham was by far the largest and one of the most populous parishes in Buckinghamshire until the late 19th-century boundary changes. The bustling valley-bottom town, with its ancient market and varied industries, contrasts with the quiet agricultural hamlets on the surrounding hillsides, and it is also one of the most attractive towns in the Chilterns.
JULIAN HUNT was born in Worcestershire in 1949 and joined the staff of Birmingham Reference Library in 1968. He was first published in 1973 and later moved to Buckinghamshire County Library in 1988. He has written numerous histories of Buckinghamshire market towns as well as other areas of England.
