Sarah Hurst was the eldest child of Richard Hurst. She had two sisters and a much younger brother. Sarah met Henry Smith when she was just sixteen years old.When Susan C. Djabri moved to Horsham in 1992 she became a volunteer at Horsham Museum, organiser of the local history group of the Horsham Museum Society and the Hon. Editor of the local history journal, Horsham Heritage. She has written or edited books on Thomas Medwin, the Shelley family and their estates, the letters of Bysshe and Timothy Shelley, the diaries of Sarah Hurst, and a series of booklets on the 1844 tithe map and 1813 enclosure map for the Horsham Museum Society. Susan also gives talks and presentations on local history and leads town walks.
