Andrew Elliott, The Institute of Actuaries Andrew Elliott grew up in the Eastern Cape region of South Africa and went to the University of Cape Town to study statistics and actuarial science. In the late 1980s, he moved to the United Kingdom to work on computer systems, eventually establishing himself as a self-employed management consultant. To study solutions based on flexible models, he co-founded various firms, including Open Square in 2003 and Revolutionary Systems in 2014. Andrew founded Is That A Huge Number? in 2016 after becoming dissatisfied with how quantitative data is portrayed in the media and public discourse.
