Chronicles of Bargepole by Michael Bywater

A collection of satirical pieces from the "Bargepole" column in Punch.
Michale Bywater hasn'y had a proper job since 1979, but nevertheless has managed to have a really good time. As well as a freelance journalist, he's a qualified commerical pilot, photographer, harpsichordist, faield doctor and red-hot lover. He is also much sought-after by the tax authorities on three continents. Additonally, he is a reluctant computer guru, an occasional TV presenter, and once wrote a film which was hailed by critics as 'even worse than Banger Boys'. He has one daughter, lives in Bloomsbury with a bad yellow-eyed woman, and his marital status is sub judice.
