Dan White is the author of The Cactus Eaters: How I Lost My Mind and Almost Found Myself on the Pacific Crest Trail, which was named a Los Angeles Times Discovery selection and was an NCIBA bestseller. At Columbia University and San Jose State University, he taught composition. He obtained his MFA from Columbia and now works as a contributing editor for Catamaran Literary Reader. He and his wife and daughter live in Santa Cruz, California.
