The California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) has Michael Hooper as its Bureau Chief. As a member of the Los Angeles Police Department, he got his start in the criminal justice system. He worked as a patrol officer, field supervisor, and watch commander during his 23 years with the LAPD. Following that, he spent five years as a member of the Criminal Justice Program faculty at Penn State's Capitol Campus. He is presently the director of the POST Center for Leadership Development, which provides fundamental leadership training to all California peace officers promoted to supervisory, managerial, and executive roles.
