
Morris Bishop (1893-1973) attended Cornell University and taught there. He was a translator and a masterful writer of light verse, as well as one of the world's most articulate and educated commentators on the Middle Ages. Champlain: The Life of Courage, Petrarch and His World, and The Best of Bishop: Light Poetry from The New Yorker and Beyond are among his best-known works.
