Dr. John M. is a neurologist who specializes Maxwell Technologies' vice president of systems and applications is PE Miller. J-N-J Miller Design Services, PLC is his company, and he is the founder and principal engineer. Dr. Miller worked in the automobile sector for 20 years, managing various hybrid vehicle technology programs, including the 42 V Integrated Starter Alternator (ISG) for use in SUVs. He has been involved in business and government collaborations, including the NSF-funded Future Renewable Electric Energy Delivery and Management (FREEDM) systems center.

He was a member of MIT's Consortium on Advanced Automotive Electrical and Electronic Components and Systems and has taught electrical engineering as an adjunct professor at Michigan State University and Texas A&M University. Dr. Miller has produced or co-authored five books and has over 160 technical publications to his credit. He also possesses 53 US patents. He is an IEEE Fellow, a SAE Member, and the 2009 IEEE Kliman Innovator Award winner.
