Piffa Schroder was raised in Ireland, and shoots regularly in Match Rifle competitions at Bisley, as well as with a sporting rifle in Britain and on the Continent. Every year she goes stalking in Scotland. She also fishes (about which, frankly, the less said the better). Her first articles appeared in Countrysport, she has written for Shooting Times and Country Magazine and now contributes regularly to The Shooting Gazette. The author lives in London. Tim Jaques is a designer, typographer, painter and illustrator, a keen game shot and fly-fisherman. He has contributed his witty, marvellously detailed illustrations to numerous books, including those by Jilly Cooper, Arthur Marshall and Douglas Sutherland.
