Year One's homework is to make something for the jungle display. That evening most of the class are cutting and gluing, painting and drawing. But Jack thinks it's far more fun to play football. A relative newcomer to the world of children's fiction, Jill Lewis is a fresh and original new voice. Erica Jane Waters has been a full-time illustrator since 1996. Her first solo book Mr Pepper's Perfect Petshop was published in 2006 and the sequel, Molly's Jolly Brolly was published in 2007. The Perfect Monster, by Sally Grindley and illustrated by Erica, was nominated for the Nottingham Children's Book Award 2006. Erica lives in Northamptonshire with her husband - and they will soon be joined by their first child.
