
Chick Gallin, Author Chick Gallin, a New Yorker by birth, served in the 101st Airborne Division of the United States Army during the Korean Conflict, the New York Fire Department, and was a private investigator in the South Florida area. During his final eight months in the Fire Department, he was assigned to a multi-departmental task force ordered clean up certain districts in Brooklyn, the Bronx, and the more derelict districts of Manhattan. He worked with the New York Police Department, riding with a patrolman, lieutenant, transit patrolman, and a sanitation division officer. Gallin stated, We traversed the various boroughs and also responded to various police calls piquing my interest in police work, resulting, in his exciting and creative detective novels. Gallin has living in Brooklyn, NY before moving to Florida, living in North Miami Beach, Miami, and Hallandale Beach.
