Kathleen McWhorter is an emeritus professor of humanities and the former director of Niagara County Community College's Learning Skills Center. She has also taught at the State University of New York at Buffalo. She graduated from the State University of New York at Buffalo with bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees. She is the author of several best-selling developmental reading, developmental writing, and study skills textbooks published by Pearson, including Reading and Study SkillsEfficient and Flexible Reading, Guide to College Reading, Academic Reading, Essential Reading Skills, Active Reading Skills, Reading Across the Disciplines, Study and Critical Thinking Skills in College, and College Reading and Selected Essays.
