Collins Treasury of Animal Poems by Jack Prelutsky
A wonderful collection of favourite poems all about animals, selected by the well-known poet, Jack Prelutsky, and beautifully illustrated by Meilo So. Prelutsky has selected a wide-range of poems from writers, including Ted Hughes, Grace Nichols, Robert Frost, Ogden Nash and many more. The collection have been divided into accessible sections, each one featuring a different type of animal, ranging from the smallest insects to the largest mammals, and introduced by a specially-written poem by the compiler himself.
Jack Prelutsky has written more than thirty books of verse, edited several enormously popular anthologies (and been extensively anthologized himself), translated a number of books, and is always at work on the poems for at least three future books. He has lived in Boston, Albuquerque and Manhattan, but now lives in Seattle.
