Sherifa Zuhur is a historian affiliated with the Center for Middle Eastern Studies, UC Berkeley and the von Grunebaum Center, UCLA. Her publications include Revealing Reveiling: Islamist Gender Ideology in Contemporary Egypt and Asmahan's Secrets: Woman, War, and Song.
