Harriet Castor grew up in Warwickshire and went to full-time dancing school. She has been writing stories for as long as she can remember and wrote her first Puffin title, FAT PUSS AND FRIENDS when she was twelve. After graduating from Cambridge with a degree in history, she taught English in Prague. She then worked as an editor in children's publishing before starting to write full-time. She lives in Notting Hill Gate, London and now writes for both adults and children.
