Colour Your Home by Caroline Atkins
A practical guide to using colour to great effect in the home, this title provides practical ideas for quick ways to adapt existing colours with accent details, furnishing accessories and paint effects. It explores colour theory: from cool to warm colours and the effect of colour in relation to the aspect and shape of the room; examines the six major colour groups and reveals how they can work in different rooms of the house; suggests sources of inspirations and demonstrates what happens when secondary colours - complementary or harmonious - are introduced.
Caroline Atkins spent 16 years working on magazines including Homes & Gardens, Good Housekeeping and House Beautiful (of which she was Editor for four years). The author of several books on decorating and entertaining, she writes for a variety of titles, including Country Living, Good Housekeeping and She, and works as an editorial consultant for both book and magazine publishers. A graduate in English Literature from Durham University, she now lives in London.
