Johnson holds degrees from Wake Forest University, USA, Long Island University, USA, and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, USA, and a doctorate from Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Philadelphia, USA. He received several Bronze Stars for valor, the Air Medal, and several Army Commendation and Meritorious Service Medals. He currently is the minister of counseling at Snyder Memorial Baptist Church in Fayetteville, North Carolina.
