Roger McGough is one of Britain's favourite poets. Born in Liverpool, he trained as a teacher, but his true calling was poetry. Over the past four decades he has published over 50 books, as well as writing for radio, film and television. He has compiled several highly successful poetry collections, including the best-selling Kingfisher Book of Comic Verse. He received an OBE in 1997 for services to poetry. He lives in London. Adam Stower is a talented illustrator who has worked for many different publishers, including Kingfisher and Bloomsbury. He lives in Brighton.
