Commando by Sally Dugan
Disappointed by the steady increase in disasters for the British troops, Chuchill conceived the idea of an elite force that would "develop a reign of terror" among the enemy. This specially trained "hunter class" would become an essential fighting force, copied the world over.
Sally Dugan took her doctorate at Birkbeck, University of London. She is a visiting research fellow at the Institute of English Studies and an Associate Lecturer at Oxford Brookes University.
