She is passionate about community and public health nursing and is skilled in research design, program evaluation, higher education leadership, and academic advising. She holds a Ph.D. in nursing education from Capella University.

Denise McEnroe-Petitte is a full professor, emeritus, of nursing from Kent State University at Tuscarawas. She has been a registered nurse since 1978 and has worked in a variety of roles and settings. Her primary area of scholarly interest is caring and cardiovascular nursing with emphasis on heart failure. She holds a Ph.D. in nursing education from Capella University.
