Comprehension to 14 by Geoff Barton
To accompany the "Comprehension to 14 Students' Book". Aimed at teachers teaching at key stage three, these books are designed to develop the skills students need to succeed in English. The book is arranged in four sections: fiction, drama, poetry and non-fiction. Within each section students practice as wide a range of texts as possible, using 20th and pre-20th century material. Each section also includes a range of factual and extended questions and advice on how to approach these. With "work banks" explaining difficult vocabulary and turns of phrase and advice on approaching different questions, the student is encouraged to use the book independently in class or at home.
