Dr. Dwyer has received the UNO and the University of Nebraska statewide system teaching awards. She started the UNO Speech Center and has written several books, papers and published articles related to public speaking and helping students overcome speech anxiety. In addition, she has served as the Chair of the National Communication Association Division of Communication Apprehension and Competence.
