Contemporary Social and Sociological Theory by Kenneth D Allan
An upper division undergraduate social theory textbook that introduces the student to the multitude of different theorists. Their contributions to contemporary social and sociological theory are presented around nine distinct theoretical ideas. Written in an accessible and engaging style to help students grasp theories and their relevance and application to modern life.
"The author succeeds admirably in making ideas intelligible by using the story-telling mode;as the introduction explains, each theory is presented as a story about some aspect of society" -Contributions to Indian Sociology -- Roma Chatterji Contributions to Indian Sociology 20080528
