Continuing Professional Development by Brian Boyd
The Continuing Professional Development series sets out to demystify professional development in education, and does so from a Scottish perspective. All books in the series approach their subject in an accessible manner that allows teachers and educators to perceive how continuing professional development can enhance job satisfaction - as well as making a real difference to the most important client group of all: the pupils and students in their care.
Brian Boyd is Professor of Education at The University of Strathclyde. He has previously been a teacher of English, a head teacher and Chief Adviser in Strathclyde from 1990 to 1993. He has published widely in the academic press and educational journals, and is widely sought after as provider of in-service or contributor to conferences on a range of educational issues. He is a member of the Curriculum Review Steering Group for Scotland and co-founder of Tapestry, an educational organisation whose aim is to promote new thinking about learning and teaching.
