As well as setting out the law itself, the authors examine the principles behind it, and discuss some of the issues and debates arising from it. It covers all the main areas of contract law such as offer and acceptance, contract terms, vitiating factors and remedies. As well as explaining the law it includes debates on issues such as the impact of Williams v Roffrey, the implications of unfair contract terms since the E.C. Directive, the future of the doctrine of privity and the economic background to contract law.

Catherine Elliott is a qualified solicitor who has practiced in the City and in Bristol. She has also undertaken anti drugs work in Peru and humanitarian work in Uganda. She currently works on a voluntary basis as an advocate/adviser with Age Concern and is a non executive director with the Devon and Cornwall Probation Service and with Guinness Care and Support.
