The heroine of this story is a little mouse, Mary. Mary is very contrary. She puts her cap on back to front and her shoes on the wrong feet. She asks for roast potatoes and gravy for breakfast. She rides her bike backwards and walks on her hands. So at bedtime her mother decides to give her a taste of her own medicine: she tucks Mary in upside down, opens the curtains, turns on the light, and says, 'Good morning!".
