Planning is a complex field, in which varied perspectives, politics, and potential actions are constantly negotiated. This is even more true in a changing world, in which climate change, war, inequalities, and injustices persist. Instead of proposing a single, homogenized response to key contemporary challenges, this book keeps apparent the divergent voices of people with varied levels and types of experience within the field of planning. Kim Carlotta von Schönfeld works as Marie Sklodowska-Curie Research Fellow at the Western Norway University of Applied Sciences, in Bergen, Norway, and collaborating researcher at the Centre for Territory, Transports and Environment at the University of Porto, Portugal.

Susa Eräranta works as Professor of Practice at the Department of Built Environment at Aalto University, Finland, and full-time in planning practice, inspired by the possibilities of bringing together theory and practice.
