Conversorum by Revilal Vidyadharan

Conversorum is a 'debate starter' book but with a unique slant - its primary intention being to encourage and stimulate conversation on a wide range of topical areas ranging from current affairs to controversial matters through to totally obscure 'out of the box' topics.;Each question adopts an appropriate format to present the reader with the topic matter at hand, endeavouring to provide enough background necessary to grasp the issue, prompting them to actively discuss and sufficiently tackle any subject, designed as such to provoke and incite debate, aiming to push intellectual questioning to its boundaries.;Whether used as a conversation starter amongst friends or as an educational resource, Conversorum caters for varying levels of intellect, encompassing a range of subject areas including finance, crime, conspiracy theories, religion, history and science amongst others.
200 topics of pure solid mind altering debate fuelled deliriumI have had a flick through, and do like the way the author has succinctly laid out each topic in a solid debate like format, together with the use of screen shots of his favourite movies captioned with witty anecdotes that capture the essence of the debating topic. ~Shady (amazon.co.uk Feb16);And it is an excellent book, well-produced, and worthy of a page caress or two. At one level it is highly provocative, at another, he has simply formulated questions concerning topics that many thoughtful members of society, clearly a serious minority, have considered ~John P Jones III (amazon.co.uk Jul14);Pick up this book and flick though this 465 pager and you could be forgiven if you thought it was a mini-encyclopaedia on life ~Sudha K (amazon.co.uk Dec14);No answers are given, there are no 'rights' or 'wrongs'. I found it a stimulating book for browsing, allowing personal reflection and sometimes insight into the 'big questions' ~Kitty (amazon.co.uk Apr14);This book is in some ways a reflection of the world we live in and it would be interesting to open this book in 20 or 30 years again to find out how our views on these issues have changed ~Olga N (amazon.co.uk Feb15);The author has given us a book/game asking us to challenge our own views on several topical issues with his own tongue in cheek additions to ignite the conversation. I can see this working really well in schools and colleges to encourage students to improve on their oral rhetoric ~R Nad (amazon.co.uk Feb14);Since receiving the book I've very much struggled to put it down. It's a very well written and interesting book with the most unusual concept ~David (amazon.co.uk Jul13);
Revilal Vidyadharan is a first time self-published author with his book 'Conversorum' and currently has his eye on two more book projects that he is working on in his spare time.;Being an enthusiastic participant/instigator of topical conversations and having expressed many forthright politically-incorrect viewpoints in his time, he stumbled upon the idea of writing a book which encouraged debate on topics that we should be discussing and questioning but were lacking in the underlying facts/knowledge to do so.;After three years of research and writing, he completely self-produced 'Conversorum' in July 2013 under the pseudonym of 'Larivel Dravidayahn'.
