Ras Barker is an actor and writer. He was born in Hampstead, north west London. The son of artists Clive Barker and Rosemary Bruen, he spent his childhood between London and the idyllic surroundings of the Malvern Hills in Worcestershire. Since training at the Academy of Live and Performing Arts, Ras has appeared in many television series for BBC, Thames, and LWT, alongside independent short films which Ras has written and produced. Ras has recently written his first children's book, Coral and the Glis Glis, which is intended to be the first of a series of books starring the duo. Coral and the Glis Glis is illustrated by his childhood friend, Sarah Shore. Ras has a daughter, Coral (the inspiration for the book) from his first marriage. He remarried in October 2018 and lives with his wife, Jan in Buckinghamshire, the home of the real life Glis Glis.
