Counting Sheep by Kathryn Cave

10th anniversary edition of a classic picture book from the current UK Children's Laureate. One night, Tom can't sleep. He's had three drinks of water from his dad, six hugs and four good-nights from Mum, but even so, sleep won't come. His dad tells him to count sheep, but it turns out that counting sheep is just the beginning - counting pythons and pirates, vampire bats and ghosts is a lot more fun! Readers are led on a wild and woolly counting adventure that goes all the way up to a hundred.
KATHRYN CAVE has written numerous books for children including, Something Else, which was also illustrated by Chris Riddell. Her latest picture book for Frances Lincoln is Troll Wood. She lives in Hampstead, North London. CHRIS RIDDELL, the 2015-2017 UK Children's Laureate, is one of today's most popular illustrators. He has illustrated over 100 books for children of all ages and has won lots of awards including the Kate Greenaway Medal (twice!). Goth Girl and the Ghost of a Mouse won the Costa Children's Book Award 2013. His book, Until I Met Dudley, is also published by Frances Lincoln. He lives by the seaside in Brighton with his wife and 3 children.
