The Crafty Kid by Kelly Doust
More than 50 projects, from cotton book bags, super-cute felt egg cosies and oilcloth aprons to deliciously soft lambswool cushions and practical picnic blankets, The Crafty Kid offers new ways of looking at the treasures within our own homes, thrift stores and local flea markets, inspiring you to make gorgeous, functional items for every aspect of a child's life.
Kelly Doust has been making and reinventing things in her own trial-and-error way since she was a girl, and scouring flea markets and charity shops for recycled fashion and homewares from her early teens. For the better part of a decade, she worked in book publishing and public relations in Sydney, Hong Kong and London, and as a freelance writer on the side. She was a regular contributor to Vogue magazine, with her essays and articles appearing in Dazed & Confused, The South China Morning Post's Lifestyle section and various other magazines and newspapers in Australia, Hong Kong and the UK. Her short stories and poetry have also been published in a number of collections.
