TED DEWAN been an illustrator and cartoonist since 1988, and his work regularly appears in the Daily Telegraph, the Sunday Times, TES and Guardian. He won the coveted Mother Goose Award for his first children's picture book in 1992, Inside the Whale. Subsequent picture books include The Three Billy Goats Gruff and Top Secret. He has also illustrated children's and adult non-fiction. His first book for the Doubleday list was The Sorcerer's Apprentice, which was short-listed for the Kurt Maschler Award. He lives in Oxford with his wife, artist and Kate Greenaway Medal-winner, Helen Cooper, and their daughter.
