The Cross (Lifebuilder Study Guides) by John Stott
The Christian faith is centred on the cross and that is also where the Christian life is rooted. These 13 studies help us look at the significance of the cross – including forgiveness, its revelation of God, the conquering of evil – and then what it means for the Christian community to live under its transforming power. The cross gives us a new worshipping relationship to God, a new incentive to give ourselves in mission, a new love for our enemies and a new courage to face the perplexities of suffering.
The Revd Dr John Stott, CBE, was for many years Rector of All Souls Church, Langham Place, London, and chaplain to the Queen. In 2005, Time magazine ranked Stott among the100 most influential people in the world. He passed away on July 27, 2011.
