Crossing the Rift by Merilyn Brason

Set against the background of World War II, this is my grandmother's true account of her perilous trek up the length of the continent of Africa. Her handwritten journal is the basis of this remarkable story.
Merilyn Brason is Elf’s granddaughter. Conceived in a Prisoner of War camp in the Philippines, Merilyn had a nomadic childhood, living in mainland China, Nigeria and the Channel Islands. She emigrated to Australia aged twenty-one and worked in radio journalism. She is now a retired psychotherapist living in the Cotswolds. This is Merilyn’s second book recounting a fascinating family drama.
