His concise biography on The Cure of Ars: Patron Saint of Parish Priests was written to provide a general and factual account of the saint's life, complete with dates and popular quotations. Father O'Brien's book was originally published in 1956 by the J. S. Paluch Company, Chicago, with the Nihil Obstat and Imprimatur. It was also retypeset by TAN in 1987 with the arrangement of the author, and once more in 2007.
