Knitting continues to rise in popularity across all age groups and is getting more media exposure, with celebs such as Julia Roberts, Winona Ryder and Cameron Diaz seen taking up the craze. More and more knitting groups and organisations are beginning to emerge, with thousands joining events such as The Knitting Olympics and the annual charity-event The Big Knit.
Sue Whiting is a needlecraft design consultant and author who works with a number of textile companies to produce brochures, booklets and promotional materials. Her clients include Jaeger and Rowan Handknitting. She trained at the London School of Fashion and has worked with numerous magazines and publishers on all aspects of needlework. She has written several needlework books, including Take up Crochet. She lives in Shipley, West Yorkshire.
