Locates cybercrime in the wider contexts of social, political, cultural and economic change. I was educated at the Universities of York and Lancaster and have had faculty positions at the Universities of Lancaster, Kent, Keele, and, most recently, Hull, where I was Professor of Sociology from 2008 to 2015. In the domains of sociology, criminology, and political theory, I have worked as an external examiner for undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in the UK, as well as judging PhD theses in the UK and Australia. I serve on the Editorial Boards of several prestigious journals, routinely collaborate with and advise academic publishers in the United Kingdom and the United States, and give editorial, advising, and mentoring services to a diverse range of customers, from undergraduate and post-graduate students to tenured faculty.
