Vanessa Barrington is an Oakland, California, based writer, chef, and cooking teacher. She's the co-author with Steve Sando of Heirloom Beans. Publications include: Curve Magazine, The Oakland Tribune and The Contra Costa Times, EcoSalon. She was San Francisco Food Editor for Apartment Therapy's The Kitchen. She consulted on, developed, and tested recipes for Fish Forever, by Paul Johnson (Wiley, 2007). Vanessa worked with a group of neighbors to found The Noe Valley Farmers Market, one of the few all-volunteer, unaffiliated Farmers Markets in the Bay Area. She is a member of IACP, ASJA, Slow Food, and The San Francisco Professional Food Society.
