The Lukhang murals were designed to guide the Dalai Lamas in a deeply secret form of mystical contemplation called Dzogchen.Ian Baker is an engineering professor at Dartmouth College. Mechanical behavior of metallic alloys, magnetic materials, ice and snow, phase transitions, electron microscopy, and x-ray techniques are among his scientific interests.
