The Dancing Dress by Daryl Stevenson

Meet Mimi, the little mouse, and her magic wardrobe of exquisite dresses. When Mimi turns the key in her magic wardrobe, she finds a beautiful dress which takes her on an exciting adventure.
Daryl was born in London in the Sixties. When she was eight she moved, with her family, to Malta and remained there till she twenty-one, soaking up the sunny Mediterranean lifestyle. After studying French in Switzerland and then spending some time working on yachts in the South of France and Malta, Daryl returned to the UK to work in advertising and PR. In 1985 she met and married Tim, a property surveyor. In 1989 they had their first child, Ben, followed by Miranda in 1992. In 1994 the family moved to Kew, London where, plus two dogs, they have lived ever since, loving being near the river and Kew Gardens. Since having Ben, Daryl has regularly attended art classes and took her Art A Level at the age of 36! Staying at home to bring up her children, Daryl loved creating things with them and fitted in her own painting when she could. Over the years a little painted water-colour mouse evolved. That little mouse was Mimi! Packaging up her first Mimi story in pink, sparkly boxes, complete with a hand-stitched soft-toy Mimi in a pink silk dress certainly paid off.
