Dancing in the Skies by Tony Jonsson

This is an account of the career of Tony Jonsson, the only Icelander to fly with the RAF during World War II. Enlisting at Padgate in 1940, he was posted to 17 Squadron at Elgin where he flew Hurricanes and then in September 1941 moved to 111 Squadron at North Weald. It was here that Jonsson began his diverse and exciting Spitfire operations, initially on day-fire offensives and night-fire duties, and then on Operation Torch and with the crucial action in North Africa.
