Dark Days by John Darwell
In February 2001 Foot & Mouth disease arrived in Cumbria. At its peak Cumbria was the worst affected county in Britain with a staggering 41% of all cases. For the local community the environmental and social consequences were to prove devastating. Over 12 months he committed to visual memory what was taking place.Liz Wells, curator and writer, is Professor of Photography Culture at the University of Plymouth's College of Arts and Humanities.
