Darwin In Malibu by Crispin Whittell
With the debate about evolution behind him, Darwin now finds guidance from tabloid horoscopes and trashy novels in a beach house in Mailibu. But when his friend Thomas Huxley washes up on the beach with the Bishop of Oxford, he finds himself entangled in a life and death comedy.
Crispin Whittell has written and directed a number of plays including Killing Her, Killing Him, Happy Valley, and Party Tricks. He was Arts Council Resident Dramatist at Nottingham Playhouse in 1998. Film credits include Happy Birthday, directed by Helen Mirren, and a short film Hot Dog, which he wrote and directed himself.
