Dateline Jerusalem by John Lyons

Dateline Jerusalem by John Lyons

Uncover the hidden biases shaping the news on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Award-winning journalist John Lyons pulls back the curtain on how major media outlets report--or fail to report--one of the world's most polarizing stories. Is the information you receive truly objective?

Lyons, a former Middle East correspondent, reveals the power of lobby groups and the prevalence of self-censorship that prevents the full story from being told. He exposes the dirty tricks used to silence journalists and offers a call to action: demand ethical, balanced reporting. Discover:

• How lobby groups influence media narratives.
• Why self-censorship is rampant in newsrooms.
• The real story behind the underreported Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

For journalists, media professionals, and anyone seeking a deeper understanding, Dateline Jerusalem is a crucial exposé that challenges you to question the sources and biases shaping your view of the Middle East.

John Lyons is one of Australia's most experienced journalists. He is currently Head of Investigative Journalism at the ABC. Over the past forty years, he has held leadership positions including editor of The Sydney Morning Herald and executive producer of Nine's Sunday program. For six years, John was The Australian's Middle East correspondent, based in Jerusalem, an experience that led him to write the bestselling Balcony over Jerusalem. He has interviewed everyone from former Israeli prime ministers Shimon Peres and Ehud Olmert to key figures from Hezbollah and Hamas.
